Our Journey

Five -year Objectives for Vita Academy Trust:

At Vita Academy Trust, our vision is clear: to provide an excellent, inclusive, and future-ready education for every child, while supporting and developing our staff and strengthening our communities. Over the next five years, these five strategic goals will guide everything we do as a Trust.

1. Growth with Purpose

Our goal is to grow sustainably, welcoming schools that share our ethos while ensuring every child benefits from being part of our family.

Growth is not about size for its own sake — it is about building a strong, collaborative network that improves outcomes for pupils and staff alike. We will expand only when we have the capacity to do so, and when new partnerships align with our values and vision.

By developing central services, strengthening leadership capacity, and creating a clear onboarding framework, we will ensure that every new school is supported, every member of staff feels part of the wider team, and every child has access to the best opportunities we can offer.

2. Leading in Sustainability

Our goal is to become a leader in sustainability across education — embedding climate responsibility into our curriculum, estates, and community partnerships.

Sustainability is both a moral and practical commitment. We will equip our pupils with the knowledge and skills to take action on environmental issues, while also ensuring our schools operate more efficiently and responsibly.

From Climate Action Plans and pupil-led eco-projects to greener buildings and energy-saving initiatives, we will ensure sustainability is not a bolt-on, but a core part of how we work as a Trust. In doing so, we will inspire young people to see themselves as change-makers for the future.

3. Wellbeing at the Heart

Our goal is to make wellbeing central to the life of every school, supporting both pupils and staff to flourish.

We recognise that academic success is built on emotional health, resilience, and belonging. That is why every school in the Trust will strengthen its pastoral care, ensure access to mental health support, and embed wellbeing education into the curriculum.

At the same time, we will prioritise staff wellbeing — creating positive working environments, supporting professional growth, and promoting work-life balance. By caring for our people, we create schools that are safe, nurturing, and aspirational places to learn and work.

4. Smarter Digital Innovation

Our goal is to transform the way we use technology so that it enhances learning, reduces workload, and builds stronger connections with families.

We will invest in the infrastructure, tools, and training that schools need to feel confident and capable in the digital age. This means modern, reliable systems that allow teachers to focus on teaching, pupils to enjoy engaging learning, and families to stay better connected with school life.

Technology will be used with purpose — not as a gimmick, but as a tool that empowers both staff and pupils, builds resilience against disruption, and future-proofs our Trust.

5. Preparing Learners for Tomorrow

Our goal is to ensure every child leaves our schools equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in life beyond education.

This means embedding digital fluency, STEM opportunities, and employability skills into every stage of the curriculum, alongside the creativity, inclusivity, and academic excellence that already define our schools.

We will strengthen careers education, expand leadership and teamwork opportunities, and nurture resilience, problem-solving, and adaptability. Our pupils will not only achieve strong academic results, but will also leave us ready to thrive in higher education, the workplace, and society.

Looking Ahead

These five goals form the foundation of our Trust’s future. They will guide decision-making at every level, ensure consistency across our schools, and provide the framework for growth, innovation, and excellence.

By 2030, Vita Academy Trust will be recognised as a forward-looking, values-driven organisation: one that enables schools to retain their unique identity while belonging to a family that champions wellbeing, sustainability, innovation, and success for all.
